Design & Build Custom Landscape • Irrigation, Low Maintenance, Lighting

Paradise Landscapes had a wonderful opportunity to design and build a custom landscape for a stately new home in Seguin, TX. The home's facade was beautifully designed with stone, stucco, and metal awnings providing many different textures giving the home an alluring disposition. Careful placement of the landscaping would be necessary to accentuate the homes natural appeal. The homeowners desired a beautiful and inviting landscape as well as low-maintenance.  With this in mind, I crafted a plan consisting of plants with either dwarf or compact growth habit, use of groundcover, and small lawn areas. Our plant palette included Boxwood, Indian Hawthorn, Yellow and Red Knock Out Roses, Red Salvia, Purple Society Garlic, Mexican Feather Grass, Pink Skullcap, Dwf. Purple Mexican Petunias, Asian Jasmine, along with many others. These plants are not only low-maintenance but are also low water use. Many of these plants will produce a  constant display of flowers through the growing season.

Artistic Element of Rustic Planter equipped with drip irrigation for low maintenance.

A large rustic planter was the centerpiece of the design contributing an artistic element with a touch of elegance.  The planter was not only filled with flowering plants but also equipped with drip irrigation for low-maintenance. Astute placement of the planter provided viewing from many vantage points. Mexican Beach Peebles placed around the planter and along the front entrance not only provided a nice contrast in color but also complemented the stonework on the home. The large planter was counterbalanced with a multiple trunk Lavender Crepe Myrtle and a large Moss Rock Boulder accented with a Sago Palm. Tifway 419 Bermudagrass was used for the grass areas due to its drought tolerance and low-maintenance. The grass areas were irrigated with spray heads utilizing MP Rotator nozzles for increased efficiency on sloped areas. Drip irrigation was used in all flower beds and groundcover. The home sat on several acres and after sunset became very dark. The homeowners requested professional LED landscape lighting to provide safety, security, and beauty for guest arriving after dark. Some of the landscape lighting techniques employed were path/area lighting, uplighting, and cross lighting.
